Hello everyone! Welcome to my first travel vlog in Hong Kong. I've came to a different understanding of maximising holidays to the fullest. By maximising, I mean to slow down my footsteps, be carefree, choose 2 to 3 places within the proximity to visit in a day and be surprised to stumbled upon places that fascinates me, to the extend that I feel like a kid in a candy store. Even the pace of life was dammm fast, people were constantly rushing from point A to point B, without a friendly demeanour at most times, I chose to stroll and find my way through reading road signs, asking the locals for directions. Relying on Google Maps is a huge mistake as it led me to walk longer than needed, and I gave up. 

Gone were those days when my travel itinerary was cramped with bucket list worthy landmarks, highly reviewed cafes, street stalls and restaurants. The old objective was to strike off the items on the checklist (yay, I've been here, I've been there), yet I spent very little time spent to soak in the atmosphere and to observe my surroundings. After all the bustle throughout the holiday, symptoms of fatigue emerged, and my body failed on me. My arch-enemy call the sinus returned every time when I barely sleep. I surrendered, I need my 8 hours of sleep even for a vacation. It's the only time to unwind, escape and be free from deadlines, errands and expectations people have on me. 

So lesson learnt, during this short strip in Hong Kong, Ryan and I did not plan for an travel itinerary at all (such lazy people we are haha). What I did was to get up 7:30am, looked for a cafe from the openrice app, and off I went for breakfast at The Cupping Room while Ryan was at the education conference for the day.

Being in the land of dimsum, roasted poultry, and beef shank noodles, there was no doubt that Ryan has limited food options for his current diet. However, my friend Yan brought us to this chic Ovo cafe for their fresh, innovative and marvellous vegetarian food. It was indeed a gem that we indulged in our individual pastas, together with their Mak's Mint Beer and Sugarcane Stout at a reasonable price. We were all impressed that a handful of cafes hop on the sustainable living bandwagon whereby they encourage the unfamiliar ones about green eating; the future of eating well beyond meat.
